Loosing ourselves at the seaside
It is a cool summer on St. Peter Ording. The island is known for its salt marshes and mud baths, for the rough grasses and the wide dunes.
Anja Schneemann and Diana Frohmüller created together with a wonderful team a fascinating bricolage of these components in order to change our inner images of a North Sea island. In order to take us on a romantic journey to the sea, where the bride and groom loose themselves in the sand.
His suit appears to be of a light grey or even light blue. She is wearing a light, long summer dress. She ties the matching lace veil beneath her chin to protect herself from the wind whenever she needs to. The invitations are kept simple, almost invisibly the dancing calligraphy blurs into a light turquoise. But the love of these two people speaks louder than any letters on a piece of paper.
Their rings hang from a twig, withstanding all weather. Shrubs, twigs and wildflowers accompanied by grey candles and white-blue plates are set out on the table. One colour accent grabs our attention: it is the red of the roses in the bridal bouquet and red of the blossoms on the cream cake that stands upon a bed of sand.
Seashells are placed on the plates, the sand or next to the delicacies of the day. When we hold them to our ear, they are a vehicle into the past. Just like the last secret for a shared future. They whisper it to the loving couple, through the wind that has just come in across the dunes. He takes her hand and leaps into the air.
