Deirdre and Andy – Castle Wedding with 40´s Charm
Honorable and imposing the castle towers above its garden, wildly growing wine adorns lovingly its walls. Neat and new on the outside, full of opulence and historic charm on the inside.
Heavy velvet, pomous chandeliers and an exclusive vintage car speak a long-forgotten language. With water wave, petticoat and expressive make-up the beautiful bride breathes new life into the long gone 40´s.
In a totally natural way this wedding combined classic with modern spirit, luxury with simplicity and tradition with romance revaluing each other even more.
Colorful berry-tones run like a golden thread through the entire concept and create the typical feeling of easiness and cheerfulness of the 1940´s while the whole ambience reminded of an old Hollywood of yesterdays.
„Deirdre and Andy got married on a sunny and warm early October day at the Irish Castle Durrow. Durrow is a historic town deep in the countryside of Laois which is near Deirdre and Andy’s home in County Kildare. Deirdre’s style was influenced by old Hollywood. Her glamorous Jenny Packham dress made her look like a starlet, and the Pronovias headpiece set off her rich dark wavy hairstyle. Vibrant red and berry colors in the bridesmaids dresses and flowers set off the green and red ivy of the castle setting.” the great photographer Lisa O’Dwyer told.
She captured all the amazing and unforgettable moments on her camera for us.
Let Lisa O’Dwyer take you back to the fascinating 40´s and dive with us into the colorful and cheerful weeding-world of Deirdre and Andy!
