Ashley and Gerald – Weddingdream at the Wörthersee

Is there anything more romantic than a wedding at the lake?! Especially the pictorial Wörthersee in Carinthia is made for weddings like that and guarantees idyllic atmosphere.

Ashley and Gerald met each other in the United States, fell in love and moved to Hamburg.

They wanted their wedding to be a blithful feast of several days´ duration and with international touch. Families and friends from the USA, England, Spain and Germany were invited and everybody came to celebrate with the happy couple.

The wedding planner Manuela Wieser of atelier brautzauber took care of the extensive organisation.
To us she exposed some details:

„First of all we had perfect weather for the wedding: clear blue sky, a turquois colored lake and the temperature was around 25 degrees Celsius.
For the civil wedding in Velden on Thursday we decorated everything in the style of the 50s because Ashley loves it so much and focused on the colors apricot and white.

The bridal couple and their guests enjoyed the brunch at the fancy restaurant „Seespitz” in the Falkensteiner Hotel Velden which is situated directly at the lake. Ashley prepared a very special present for Gerald: she surprised him with a motorboat-ride across the lake, including sparkling wine and sunshine.

For the ceremony on Friday they asked their guests to wear traditional Austrian costumes. It was supposed to get rustic and comfortable. The guests were taken to a chalet near the Ossiachersee, round 1700m aloft. The atmosphere there was cheerful and relaxed and everyone got entertained typically Carinthian – culinary as well as musically!

Finally on Saturday Ashley and Gerald had their churchly ceremony. Wildly romantic, english and classy colored in tender pastel colors jade and rosé.
Afterwards they threw a party among the big park of the Parkvilla Wörth at the Wörthersee.

Nothing was left to chance! Loungeseats were placed, pagoda tents were built up, a lot of flowers were put into the right places, cakes and tartes were baked, decoration for the tables and the ballroom were unpacked and arranged and the little presents for the guests were organised. The decoration-theme was „Birdie” and Ashley started collecting little birds weeks before her wedding to decorate the whole room. Even a „Birdie”-wallpaper got stuck onto a wall and every pecker on the table held the reservation-tag. As little presents for her guests Ashley wanted to have self-made jam and honey filled up in lovely jars that she could also use as name-tags.

Ashley looked enchanting in her fabulously white wedding gown made of lace and the breathtaking train. The most touching moment was when the bride and her groom saw each other for the first time in front oft he altar. After the churchly ceremony they got into an lovely red oldtimer convertible and drove from Klagenfurt to Pörtschach.

In the meantime the guests were taken onto a little tour along the Wörthersee that brought them to the reception at the Villa Wörth, where they enjoyed some champagne, fingerfood and live jazzmusic.
In contrast to the get-together on the alp this party was very elegant and classy. It was important for Ashley and Gerald to have a wow-effect and a harmonically overall picture for their friends and families.

After an easygoing fotoshoot in Pörtschach with Claire Morgan the bridal couple returned to their guests who welcomed them with a big applause and a hunting horn-fanfare. But before they could enjoy dinner the two had to pass some Carinthian „husband and wife tests”.

Later, our DJ took care of atmospherically colored lights and danceable music for the company. Also cutting the cake was celebrated at the cake-table to the sound of Louis Armstrongs and Ella Fitzgeralds „Dancing Cheek to Cheek”. It could not have been more adorable.

My assistant Tanja and I quickly lit up the candles and windlights in the park and along the ways to perfectionate the romantic atmosphere of this wonderful summernight wedding. We will never ever forget this dreamlike wedding of Ashley and Gerlad at the Wörthersee.”

Thanks a lot to Manuela Wieser of atelier brautzauber and the photographer Claire Morgan for those magnificent wedding impressions that fascinate us so much and makes us dream about romantic lake-weddings.
